I Shall Be Gone
“I shall set forth for somewhere;
I shall make the reckless choice,
Some day when they are in voice
I shall have less to say,
but I shall be gone.”
I shall sing a reckless silent song;
I shall compel the souls to hearken,
Some day when all is gone
“I shall have less to say
But I shall be gone”
I shall walk amongst you
But none will see
Someday when all is gone
“I shall have less to say
But I shall be gone”
Like ripples in a lake, memories fade into silence
But thoughts of your kindness, laughter and care
Rage in the shores of my mind.
All thoughts and memories seem fresh and alive
Time is the greatest healer
But as it passes I seem to feel more pain,
When will the healing begin?
The hands of time are an age-old mystery that remains unsolved,
While time is still a mystery,
That which remains known is that you are gone.
